Channel O Access Campaign

This is a little tit bit that will keep getting built on as I wait to hear if got it or not - in other words something to do while I bite my nails in anxiety!

Part one! - My Video Submission
The video you are about to view took bucket loads of love, time & energy to make. Igy, Herbie & I moved around (very slowly) around the Cape Town city centre in the rainy, misty cold - typical Cape Town weather. We had 3 Hours to do it. And indeed we pulled it off :)

I had just finished getting my hair done by some miracle - as I had NO money (story for another day! But thanks to my sister and the goodness of people I managed)

I had so many looks I wanted to show off but limited time & no facilities, I managed to get Iggy to help me out - he is one busy guy, but he understood my passion & stepped in to help. Thanks Iggy! Check out the incredible project he is working on!

Enough chit chat! Here's my video (editing it was painful but very necessary!) See if you can spot some Cape Town Spots!

As usual comment away :)

Part II ! - Thank You, tHank You, Thank yOU!
The following people helped me make this video possible, on a wet cold rainy Cape Town night they all either gave me the go ahead to film in their space or held an umbrella while I got some clothes from Herbie!!

Daddy Long Legs Boutique Art  Hotel situated on 134 on Long

Neighbourhood Bar situated at 169 on Long

Mr Pickwicks Situated on 158 on Long

Labia On Orange a historical landmark in the mother city

Part Thr33! - I made a song  (during lunch time on my laptop!)

EeEEEeeEek! This is just for fun! I enjoy singing :) (In the shower...he he he!)

Have a listen by clicking over here

One rule:NO making fun of me!

Part 4!- All The Love (This was my favourite part)

I made a post where I mentioned that I had entered the competition and this was the response from friends & acquaintances alike. I myself was overwhelmed and warmed by this all here it is - Check the comments under "Ramblings"

Part 5! - I'm an all rounder
I'm a great writer so through me Channel O-Access can link the show to my blog (or another blog) which is interesting, interactive and  fun. This means linking TV to Internet and social commentary! Not to mention additional revenue that can be generated by ad placement on my page  :) in short - I'm an all rounder

Part 6! - My Producer is a Legend!

I got off the phone yesterday morning with my legendary producer/director from "Everyday People" The show I'm volunteering for and he is putting together a collection of my best interviews. Here's a little bit about the one's we've chosen:

Goldfish at Synergy Festival in Franschoek - This was one of the best festivals I have ever attended. It was on a wine farm called Boschendal Wine Estate which is wedged between some breath taking valleys. After some sweat and near tears I managed to get 3 weekend passes which meant we could get backstage and hang with the performers - it was really lots of fun. Immediately after Goldfish performed (in their sweaty state) I walked up to them, flashed my best smile and asked them if I could get a few questions in. They couldn't resist & we had a great, fun interview which comprised of lots of giggles and outright laughs.

David Kau Black's Only Comedy Festival - I somehow managed to win some tickets to the Blacks Only Comedy night that was being hosted at the CTICC in Cape Town. Big Thanks to Nick Kaoma of fabulous Head Honcho Clothing Lable based in the Mother City! I got to meet David Kau and the crew, Chris Forrest, Dwayne Perkins, Sifiso Nene & Chris Mapane. This interview was a little harder, I had to ask David if we could do the interview while we were at the after party (when he is trying to unwind and have fun!) but I had to hustle and see what I could wiggle out of him. He ended up agreeing and the entire crew came to do the interview. It was so funny & fun. I hung out with the guys the rest of the night. At the end of the night David came up to me to say congratulations and good luck for my future :) I'm hoping the Channel O Access presenter job is my next step into the future. I'll write him up and tell him that his well wishes worked :)

People Under  The Stairs (PUTS) at Zula Soundbar - This one I have my amazing friend, confidant & event planner Akio Kawahito of Kool Out Entertainment to thank for. He let me come to the interview at the Red Bull Studios in Cape Town for the mini-interview and chat. This allowed me to find out more about them! I was a lot more confident to interview them. I hadn't had enough time to prepare that afternoon because I had helped a dear friend of mine do interviews in a refugee camp in De Doorns following the shocking xenophobic attacks that had taken place 2 days prior. I was still in a state of shock after witnessing all that I saw and heard that afternoon. The interview was so natural and real. I enjoyed every single part of it! At the end of it I felt like I knew the guys :)

Part 7! - I'm in a soon to be story book :) Meet "Didi the Vixen!"

I have so many just jaw-droppingly amazing and inspiring friends. One of my favourite people - Miss Nonku (only one of the most multi-talened singer, songwriter, graphic artist & just plain great young ladies I know) - has been spending lots of time with me and the girls lately and she decided to come up with some characters for a story book...how flipping genius? Seriously, wow! So yesterday I open facebook up to find I have been tagged, I go to check (slightly nervous) and what do I find? Yes, Yes, Yes, Little Miss Nonolulooo has made a storybook version of me :) she calls her "Didi the Vixen" wooo! I love it! Sneak a Peak below!
